I’ve been designing, building, and tinkering since I was a child. My dad’s basement woodshop was my childhood playground. I loved making things that were not only practical, but beautiful, like a wooden airplane I painted and hung so that the paint would drip to form racing stripes.
As a teen, I fell in love with sculpture, where I was first introduced to the iterative design process. I learned to build multiple versions of the same art piece to see how people would respond to them and revise accordingly.
I went on to study mechanical engineering with a product design focus at Brown University. When I graduated, I worked developing low-cost robotics for Shopbot Tools, where I led the development of several successful products, including a best-selling magnetic dust foot.
In 2017 I caught the coding bug and moved to San Francisco, where I’ve spent the past several years working as a software engineer for tech startups - most recently at Stripe, where I work to improve the onboarding experience for new users.
Outside of work, you can find me on stage at Endgames Improv (come to a show!), swimming in the San Francisco Bay, or with my hands dirty at Clay by the Bay Studio.
